Scheme for Undocumented Migrants to open on 31st January 2022

Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has announced that the scheme will be open on 31st January to 31st July 2022.


The Minister has also published the policy paper underpinning this scheme which includes the eligibility requirements for applicants and checklist of the required documentation.

The administration fee for a family application is €700.00 and €550.00 for a individual applicants.

Short period of absence from the state up to (60 days) and short stay visitor visa upon re-entry to state up to (90 days) will be disregarded for those who would otherwise meet the requirements of Undocumented Migrants under the scheme.

Unsuccessful applicants can submit an appeal to the Immigration Service within 30 days from the date of the decision. The appeal must be submitted online.

The appeal can be submitted by the applicant or their legal representative.


Successful applicants will be granted stamp 4 permission an initial period for two year, which may be renewed for two years and then a further peroid of three years subject to applicant compying with the conditions set out in the permission letter.
